Rejections

As I’ve been writing all these stories to publish here on my blog I’ve also been doing some searching to see if I might find places to publish them for actual money, which is the point after all. So while I’ve been working on Leapers part II and III I’m also finished with another story that I felt was quiet good. I’m torn between writing my best versus writing just to practice different scenes/techniques etc. Part of me really wants to write and not share anything anything too unrefined. However, that conflicts with the desire to just share it on this simple blog because if I put the energy into it that I consider it ‘good enough’ shouldn’t I be trying to get those pieces published?

This puts me in an awkward place as most places these days don’t accept anything that has been posted to the internet in public before. That means that most of what I write here will not be publishable to others. So I’m trying to get ahead of this and know the publishers I want to publish at so that I can send things off to get rejected and then show them here. Other quick pieces that I know don’t fit my targeted publications I can just publish and not feel like I’m missing an opportunity. Sorry things got a little delayed there, trying to produce something every week is taking a lot of work. I expected it but I’m still learning how I’m going to do this.
