Getting Started is hard

by penross on September 24, 2013

Had a long day ‘paper shuffling’ day at work. I call it ‘paper shuffling’ when I am doing everything that makes my job work that isn’t actually coding. So, things like managing branches, code reviews, meetings, testing etc. I did write one line of code today, so that’s good.

That said. I’m sitting here. My brain is relatively energized (good food, got some sleep, work didn’t drain me completely) and all it tries to do is skitter away from the task at hand. I am working on a story entitled ‘Falling Star’ which is just a simple battle / fighting sequence of some soldiers on an alien planet that run awry of the local fauna. I finished up the broad strokes of the conclusion (what I’ve been thinking/pondering about the past few days) and now it is time to write it and all I can think of are everything else. This post is a lame attempt to get started writing and maybe chase out some distraction  demons in the process.
